Our dearly loved Paula Ann
Margaret Hernandez Aller was
called to be with our Lord on
Sunday, March 13, 2011 after a
short illness in Denver, Colorado.
Paula was born December 31,
1950 in Montrose, Colorado to
Frank T. Hernandez and Tina M.
Herrera Hernandez Ochoa. She was married to William E. Aller
“Bill”. After spending some years in California, Paula and Bill returned
to Montrose to raise their sons, William “Billy”, Montrose,
and Michael “Buck”, Lakin, Kansas. Paula and Bill later divorced.
After Paula's sons started their own families, she split her time between
Kansas and Colorado in order to spend time with her beloved
grandchildren. Paula was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and
mother. She was especially dedicated to her six grandchildren, Toni,
Michael, Dawson, Zane, Marissa and Piper all of whom adored her
greatly. She could be seen any time of the week with her grandchildren
whether it was feeding the ducks at the pond with Zane and
Piper or traveling to Kansas for Michael's ball games, Marissa's
birthday, or Dawson's school program.
Paula worked full time in property management and real estate
brokerage for Wakefield Management in Grand Junction. In spite of
having a very busy job, Paula still found time to make weekly dinners
for her mother, step-father, and other family, entertain friends,
volunteer for a local victims' advocacy group, and to spend quality
time with grandchildren, sisters, and nieces.
Paula was an active member of Crossroads Victory Church, and
she was known for living life at its fullest. She was gifted at interior
design, arts and crafts, cooking, and entertaining in her home.
Paula was very active with her son's school activities like being a
BMX bicycle racing coach or a den mother for their scout troops.
Paula was educated at Montrose High School and Garden City
Community College in Garden City, Kansas. She was a licensed real
estate broker and an excellent business manager. She belonged to a
professional group for real estate agents and brokers and was a
member of the Grand Junction Rotary Club.
Survivors include her sons, Billy and his wife, Stephanie; Michael
and his wife, Kitra; her six grandchildren; her mother and step-father,
Tina and Jimmy Ochoa; her brothers, Ricky and his wife,
Sherry; LeRoy; Danny, and his wife, Tami; her sisters, Claudia
Batty, and her husband, Scott; Debra Bolton, and her husband,
Dale; and Eileen DeJulio, and her husband, Mark. Paula is also survived
by 19 adoring nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and
grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hernandez
in 2007.
The funeral will be Friday, March 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads
Victory Church with Pastor Chris Peterson and Paula's siblings officiating
at 515 South Hillcrest in Montrose. Interment will be at
Valley Lawn Cemetery following the memorial service. Family and
friends will gather at the Montrose Holiday Inn's Jordan Room, 1391
S. Townsend in Montrose following interment.
