Doris Jean Patten passed away
quietly at the Hospice Care Center
on April 30, 2011, at the age
of 69.
She was born on August 12,
1941, to Hilbert and Calista
(Ross) Smith. Doris spent her
childhood in Placerville and Norwood,
and she graduated high
school from Tintic High in Eureka,
Utah. There she met and married Bob Fields. They spent 25
years of their married life in Eureka as members of the Mormon
Church. She has been a resident of Grand Junction for the past 11
years.
Doris spent most of her life as a housewife and cook, and she enjoyed
family gatherings, fishing, cooking, crocheting, working in
her garden and planting flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Edward
Alan Criss; and her sister, Laura Jean Jensen. Doris is survived by
her son, William Kenneth NcNeil, Jr. of Grand Junction; her
daughters, Laura Jean McNeil and Elva Rae Young of Grand Junction,
and Betsy Ann McNeil of Montrose; her sister, Mary Arletta
Richardson of Duchesne, UT; 13 grandchildren, and five
great-grand children.
Interment will held at the Norwood Cemetery on August 12, 2011,
at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin Mortuary
