Helen E. "Jean" Dixon, passed
away on Monday, March 7, 2011
at Horizon's Care Center in Eckert.
She was 80 years of age.
A funeral service honoring
Jean's life was held Wednesday,
March 9, 2011 at the Taylor Funeral
Service Chapel in Delta
with Hospice Chaplain Nina Gogenola
presiding. Burial followed at Mesa View Cemetery.
Helen Emogene Dixon was born to George Ellsworth and Olia
Lottie (Morris) Lugard on February 20, 1931 in Gale, Oklahoma.
She spent her childhood in Pea Green and attended schools in
Olathe.
On October 5, 1980, Jean married Charlie Dixon in Delta, Colorado.
The couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last
year.
Jean, a retired clerk, enjoyed crocheting, making homemade ice
cream, collecting dolls, and she loved roses. More importantly, she
was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Jean is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charlie Dixon of
Delta; one son, Mike Holveck of Cedaredge; three daughters and
their husbands, Patricia (Gary) Terrell of Grand Junction, CO; Debbie
(Cooter) Parise of Florida, and Charlene (Al) Sennikoff of
Texas, and two step daughters and their husbands, Grace (Bob)
Hendricks and Sharon (Roger) Dixon both of Grand Junction, CO.
Jean is further survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
