DEATH OF FRANK L. BURBANK.
The town of Red Cliff has again been called upon to mourn for the death of one of her native sons, and most popular young men, in the death of Frank L. BURBANK, second son of Mr. and Mrs. F. V. BURBANK, prominent pioneer citizens of that town.
The young man was a student of the Colorado State University at Boulder, in his third year, when he was afflicted with typhoid fever. His father was notified of the son's serious illness the first of last week and hurried to his bedside. But the dread malady then had its death grip on the young man, and he passed away Wednesday, November 23, at Boulder, Colorado.
Frank Lysander BURBANK was born in Red Cliff September 21, 1900, where he grew to manhood. He was a graduate of the Red Cliff high school, where his student abilities won a scholarship in the State University, where he was pursuing his studies when stricken down. He was a young man of unusual attainments and high promise, a leader and popular among his associates, and that his life should end right at the threshold of so promising a manhood seems a pity.
The body was brought back to Red Cliff by the stricken father last Saturday, and the funeral services held Sunday. As a testimonial of the high esteem in which the deceased was held by those among whom he had spent his entire life, the funeral was attended by nearly every person in the community, the services being held in the commodious Carlson hall to accommodate the large crowd of sorrowing friends who desired to pay their last respects to their favorite. Rev. Mr. GRAMPS of Delta, field missionary of the Presbyterian church, conducted the services, and the remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery at Red. Cliff.
