his home.

Edfast Mortuary.
Mr. Allen was a truck driver.

and Michael Altman, both of
Seneca, Mo.; two daughters, Deborah

and Aileen Cochrane of La Verkin,
Utah; 17 grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren.

Robert “Bob” Stokes Allen,
a/k/a “Bubba”, passed away
peacefully at his home in Palisade
on April 7, 2011 surrounded
with his friends and family. He
was 80 years old.
Bob was born July 7, 1930 in
Palisade, to Robert M. and Margaret
Stokes-Allen; he was the oldest of three children. Bob graduated
from Craig High School, then enlisted in the Navy and served
honorably as an aircraft mechanic. He spent many years as a professional
truck driver, including 17 years driving for City Market where
he retired with the Million Mile Safety Award.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. and Margaret
Stokes-Allen and Dorothy Schimpf Allen, mother of their three
children.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Don (Ann) Allen of
Phoenix, AZ; Jeffrey (Lisa) Allen of Palisade; Debra (Patrick) Casey
of Clifton; four children he shared with Patricia; Wendell
(Peggy) Altman of Neosho, MO; Douglas Altman of Seneca, MO;
Jane Brown of Palisade; Michael (Sondra) Altman of Seneca, MO;
two sisters, Norma Hartman of Johnston, CO and Aileen (Lonnie)
Cochrane of LaVerkin, UT; 17 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren,
numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob had a passion for motorcycles and took many great trips with
his wife, Patricia and his riding companion of many years, Richard
Chapman. They traveled through the Redwood Forest, Yosemite
National Park into Canada and all through the Western States. He
enjoyed fishing and relaxing on Grand Mesa with his wife and their
loving dog, Mutt-Lee.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 16, 2011 at
11:00 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Donations may be made to
Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado.
