On March 20, 1920, a male child
was born to H.C. Hanna and wife
Susie Hanna in Centerville, Iowa
and named Donald Wayne Hanna.
In about 1921, the family moved
to Davenport, Iowa, where Wayne
grew up and graduated from high
school. In 1941, Uncle Sam
pointed his finger at Wayne and
said "I Want You!" and sent him
to Ft. MacArthur at San Pedro, California where he met Dorothy J.
Croskrey and they were married for 62 years. Dorothy passed away
November 6, 2006.
They leave behind a daughter, Janet L. (Hanna) Stewart of
O'Fallon, MO and a son, Mark W. Hanna of Palisade, CO, three
grandsons and two great-grandsons.
Wayne was a lifetime IBEW electrician in Long Beach, CA and
Mesa County, CO and a certified electrical inspector in Mesa
County. He taught electrical code for five years at Long Beach City
College and one year at Mesa State. After retiring, he taught as a
volunteer for ten years at the Collbran Job Corps, which he enjoyed
very much.
Services for D. Wayne Hanna are Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00
a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, with Military
Honors at 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway.
