Armando Unzueta, 34, of Eagle, died Tuesday.
He was born Nov. 12, 1977, in Amherst, Texas, to Armando and Rosie Unzueta.
Armando graduated from Littlefield High School in Littlefield, Texas, in 1997.
He met his wife, Gina, in 2000. They lived in Midland, Texas, where he was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from 2004 until 2008.
In 2008, Armando and his wife moved to Eagle, where he was employed for the Department of Homeland Security as a transportation security officer and then quickly promoted to lead transportation security officer on various occasions.
Armando will be remembered by all as a loving, caring and devoted
husband.
He was an avid outdoorsman with excellent marksmanship skills.
Armando enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting, ATV-ing, camping and spending time with his close family and friends. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Unzueta; parents Armando and Rosie Unzueta; brothers Brian Unzueta; sisters Jenniffer Unzueta, Yolanda Unzueta and Leslie Garcia; aunts and uncles Mack and Esther Hernandez Jr., Oscar Hernandez, Robert and Irene Hernandez, Robert and Gloria Pedroza, Connie Hernandez; and grandma Gloria Hernandez.
Armando was preceded in death by his grandpa, Mack Hernandez, and his aunt, Irma Hernandez.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Calvary Christian Fellowship in Gypsum.
Everett Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
