Delta resident, Harold J. Brandstadt,
passed away peacefully at
his residence on Thursday, May
26, 2011 in Delta, Colorado. He
was 80 years of age.
A funeral service honoring
Harold's life will be held at 10:00
a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at
the First Assembly of God
Church in Delta, Colorado with
Paul Nystrom officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until
9:45 a.m. prior to the service at First Assembly of God Church.
Interment will follow the service at the Delta City Cemetery in
Delta, Colorado.
Harold James Brandstadt was born on May 18, 1931 in Pontiac,
Michigan to the late Henry and Emma (Dregger) Brandstadt.
On April 10, 1955, Harold married Lois Marie Brown in Montrose,
Colorado. They have been residents of Delta, Colorado for the past
56 years.
Harold was a member of the Delta Elk's Lodge and a past chairman
for the Delta Potato Growers Association.
Harold loved farming, ranching, hunting and fishing. He also loved
listening to Hank Williams music and visiting with friends and
neighbors.
Harold is survived by his four sons, Kenneth Brandstadt of Grand
Junction, Colorado; Donald Brandstadt and spouse, Maria of Bennington,
Oklahoma; Gary Brandstadt of Grand Junction, Colorado,
and Melvin Brandstadt and spouse, Mona of Delta, Colorado; two
sisters, Jean Brandstadt and June Broome and spouse, Orland, all of
Delta, Colorado; 15 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma
Brandstadt; his loving wife, Lois Brandstadt on March 31, 2011; a
son, John Henry Brandstadt, and a daughter-in-law, Darla Brandstadt
Memorial contributions may be made in Harold's memory to Hospice
and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P. O. Box 24, Delta,
Colorado.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral
Service and Crematory.

and 11 great-grandchildren.
