Roger Steele passed away March 20, 2011 at the Hospice Care
Center in Grand Junction, he was 71.
Roger was born on February 22, 1940 in Nucla, CO from the union
of Marion and Jean (Snyder) Steele. He spent his childhood in the
Nucla and Delta area and graduated from the Cedaredge High
School. Roger met Jackie Allen in Cedaredge, CO and they married
in November, 1958 at the Eckert Presbyterian Church, she survives.
Early in his life he mined in the west end of Colorado and later became
an electrical contractor in Aspen and the family moved from
Aspen to Grand Junction in 1992.
Roger was a hard worker and never had a bad thing to say about
anyone, he was much like his mother. He was a certified scuba
diver, airplane pilot and enjoyed travelling with both these interests.
Favorite past time memories were made with family on fishing and
hunting trips in Hayden as well as buffalo hunting in South Dakota.
Roger leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Jackie Steele of the
home; three sons, Keith Leroy Steele of Palisade, CO; Scott Lynn
Steele of Glenwood Springs, CO and Kevin Lee Steele of Palisade,
CO; a brother, Norman Steele of Montrose, CO; 11 grandchildren
and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Steele.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26,
2011 at Martin Mortuary with a visitation time from 10 - 11:00 a.m.
prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday,
March 26, 2011 at the Eckert Cemetery, Eckert, CO.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Martin Mortuary.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
at the mortuary. Burial will
follow at Eckert Cemetery.
Mr. Steele was an electrical
contractor.
Survivors include his wife,
Jackie of Grand Junction;
three sons, Keith Le Roy and
Kevin Lee of Palisade and Scott
Lynn of Glenwood Springs; one
brother, Norman of Montrose;
11 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
