at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church. Burial will take place
at New Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Brach was a farmer.

Raymond Eugene Brach was
born on February 28, 1938 in
Loma, Colorado, the son of John
D. Brach and Nellie (Galinski)
Brach. He attended school at
Loma and Fruita, graduating from
Fruita High School.
In 1946 his family moved from
Loma to the house that he lived in
for the rest of his life on 17 Road.
He starting helping with the farm at age eight and had just given up
farming last fall. When asked about how long he had farmed he said
“64 years and I think that’s enough”.
His hobbies included welding and wood working and playing the
accordion. He was an avid accordion player and no family gathering
was complete until Raymond would get out the accordion and
play the Pennsylvania Polka or his brother Johnny’s favorite, Jambalaya.
As he lost some of the use of his fingers he switched to keyboard
but had just returned to playing the accordion again.
He was a kind and gentle soul and was a lover of all animals, big or
small. His kind and gentle nature will be missed by all who knew
him. After the death of his parents he stayed on the farm with his
sister, Mary. After her death he stayed on the farm with the help of
his brother, Lawrence and his wife, Lynette. Lawrence and Lynette
moved to his farm to be closer to him and help with the farming and
day to day chores.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie and his
brothers and sister, Mary C. (Carl) Creason; John D. (Arlene) Brach;
Louis R. (Betty) Brach; Thomas R. (Patrice) Brach, and Lawrence
M. (Lynette) Brach.
He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Michael L. (Connie)
Brach; John E. Brach; David F. (Ann) Brach; Dianna (Bob) Beltz;
J.D. Brach; Judy Kannard; Geri Ann (Rocky) Riggs; Tommy Brach;
Susie (Mark) Bautch; Lori (John) Mallon; step-nieces, Michelle
Lamicq; Mariann (Marty) Basinger, and Stephanie (Erick) Key.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary from 5 - 7:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday,
June 9th at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Fruita. Burial will take place at the
New Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marillac Clinic.
