Margie V. Lobato of Montrose
died Thursday, April 21, 2011.
She was 84 years old.
A rosary will be recited Friday,
April 29, at 7:00 p.m. at St.
Michael’s Catholic Church in
Delta. A Mass of Christian burial
will he held Saturday, April 30, at
9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic
Church. Burial will follow at
Delta City Cemetery.
Mrs. Lobato was born June 10, 1926, in Delta, to Antonio and
Francisca (Vasquez) Ledesma. She spent her childhood in Delta.
Margie married Willie Lobato on October 23, 1948, in Delta. He
preceded her in death on August 13, 1983.
Mrs. Lobato lived in Paonia before moving to Sunnyside, Utah and
Uravan. She returned to Paonia before moving to Montrose in 2008
to live with her sister. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, bingo, flowers,
her yard and making chili, tortillas and tamales. She volunteered
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and
her children’s schools. She was a cook and helper at the Uravan
Boarding House and Uravan Elementary School. She was a member
of Our Lady of Guadalupe Society at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Lobato is survived by her daughter and her husband, Shirley
and Kenneth Barnes of Nucla; a son and his wife, William and
Joann Lobato of Nucla; a sister, Jennie Cruz of Montrose;
sisters-in-law, Mary Ledesma of Grand Junction; Carrie Chairez of
Delta; Lillian Espinoza of Elko, NV; Annie Olivas of Denver;
Frances Pacheco of Tabernash; Marie Nicholson of Leighton;
brother-in-law, Jim Lobato of Olathe; five grandchildren, Tony Barnes
and his wife, Sara of Grand Junction; Justin Barnes and his wife,
Kelly of the United Kingdom; Cameron Lobato of Grand Junction;
Tiffany Ptaszek and her husband, Dave of Broomfield, and Michael
Lobato and his wife, Sara of Grand Junction; eight great-grandchilren,
Ethan Barnes of Nucla; Isreal Barnes, Nicholas Barnes, Mason
Barnes, Camden Lobato, Amber Lobato and Haley Lobato, all of
Grand Junction, and Cayden Ptaszek of Broomfield; numerous
nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Lobato;
four brothers, Michael Ledesma, Lane Ledesma, Tony Ledesma,
and Joe Ledesma, and one sister, Frances Mena.
