Elizabeth McIlnay, a longtime resident of the Vail area, went to be with the Lord March 28 following a brain aneurysm.

She was born the sixth of seven children to Minor and Gladys Duggan on July 13, 1930, in Hoehne, where her father was a farmer. She was married to Durbin McIlnay of Red Cliff on April 9, 1949, in Colorado Springs. They lived in Gilman until 1987, when the town's mining operation was closed down. They then moved to Winnemucca, Nev., for Durbin's employment, where they retired in 1996.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Virginia Wrazin, Mary Lea Dodge, Alma Cook, Lois Andrews; and her brother William Duggan. She is survived by her husband, Durbin McIlnay, of Winnemucca; her sister Hazel Cook of Ponchatoula, La.; children David McIlnay and his wife, Lorna, of Grand Junction, Daniel McIlnay of Grand Junction, and Ruth Rowley and her husband, David, of Denver; grandchildren Kimberly McIlnay, M.D., and her husband, Josh Buhs, of Folsom, Calif., and John McIlnay and his wife, Shani, of Roseville, Calif.; and great-grandchildren Morgan Elizabeth Buhs, Landon McIlnay and Justine Rowley Miller.

Beth was active in the local chapter of P.E.O. and regularly attended the First Baptist Church. A celebration of her life is being planned this summer in Grand Junction.

There will be a memorial service at the First Baptist Church in Winnemucca at 11 a.m. Saturday.
