Alice Marie Foisy, age 87,
passed away quietly in her sleep
August 12th at Mantey Heights in
Grand Junction, CO.
Alice was born May 22, 1924 in
Kalispell, Montana to Carl and
Emma Brown. She was the last of
six siblings and grew up on the
family farm. She had two horses,
Peanut and Buckskin, and she
rode them to the one room school house. Life on the farm was hard
but Alice enjoyed summers spent in Glacier National Park watching
the mountain goats play. She left the farm and went to Texas to
study nursing and was also a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp.
She married Marvin Foisy and to this union tjree children were born,
twin girls, Dawne (Paul) Ellifritz of Grand Junction; Sunset
(Mickey) Burke of Ft. Mohave, AZ, and Esther Mease of Aurora,
CO. They survive along with four grand children; 12 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandchild.
She found loving companionship in her later years with John Ford
and they had 20 years together (he survives).
Preceding her in death were her parents; five siblings and her husband.
Cremation has taken place, no services are planned at her request
and burial will be at Palisade Cemetery at a later date.
