Ernie was born to Lorenzo and
Juanita Garcia in Grand Junction,
Colorado on October 14, 1949
and passed on August 22, 2011.
He lived his entire life in Grand
Junction.
He is survived by sister, Cecelia
Chavez of St. George, Utah;
brothers, Fred of Rifle; Abel of Fruita; Tim of Denver, and Eugene
of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Angelina Garcia and Cora Garcia
of Grand Junction. He is also survived by over 30 nephews and
nieces who loved him dearly.
Ernie was a joy and inspiration to his family and all who knew
him.
The family wishes to acknowledge Mesa Development Services,
the Colorado Regional Center in Grand Junction and Hospice &
Palliative Care of Western Colorado for the services provided to
him.
A public viewing will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, CO, followed by a
Rosary on Wednesday, August 24. A memorial Mass will be held at
St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25
followed by a burial service at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to Callahan-Edfast Mortuary and donations in
his name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Services of Western
Colorado (3090B N. 12th St. Grand Junction, CO 81506), or to
Resident Benefit Fund, Pace Cottage (Colorado Regional Center,
2800 Riverside Dr., Grand Junction, CO 81501).
