Michael Paul McKee was born
on January 12, 1985 in Grand
Junction, CO to Michael Jerry
McKee and Janell Barlow Mc-
Kee. He left his family and loved
ones on August 21, 2011. He
graduated from R5 High School
in 2004. He was baptized in the
General Assembly of the Church
of the First Born on June 13,
1999.
Michael's greatest love was the Colorado Outdoors. He loved the
time he spent hiking on the Colorado Monument Plateau and the
time he spent along the rivers of Colorado. He loved to go camping
and to gaze upon the beauty of nature. He loved to listen to music
and play his guitar. He had a great passion for reading and history.
He was a very kind, generous, and compassionate person.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Don McKee; his grandfather,
Earl Barlow; his grandmother, Nellie Barlow, and his aunt,
Wilda Komatas.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Janell McKee of Grand
Junction; his sister, Mariah Evans and her husband, Chris, three
nephews, Lucas, Max and Harrison from Tulsa, OK; his grandmother,
Betty McKee of Gunnison, CO; uncles, Bob McKee (Darlene),
and Pat McKee (Joan) of Gunnison; Fred McKee (Julie) from
Delta, CO; aunt, Becky Moore (Jack) from Redding, CA; uncles,
Burl Barlow (Teresa) from Clifton, and Vaun Barlow (Tina) from
San Angelo, TX. He has many cousins from Grand Junction, Gunnison,
Phoenix, and Idaho that he loved dearly. He also leaves behind
his two best friends, Cory Knoll and Bri Townsend. He will be
greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:00
a.m. at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, CO with Chris
Evans officiating.
