Barbara Jean Lindbloom passed into the arms of the Lord Sunday afternoon, March 20, at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Barb was born in Leadville on April 7, 1936, and lived her entire life in her hometown, graduating from Leadville High School in 1955. On July 3, 1959 Barb married her high school sweetheart, Carl A. Lindbloom, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Barb worked as a phone receptionist for the telephone company when it was located in Leadville and later worked in the offices at the Climax Molybdenum Mine. She also worked at the Book Mine. Her favorite occupation, though, was that of wife, mother and homemaker.

Barb was a master crafter. An accomplished porcelain miniaturist, Barb's work was sought out by collectors worldwide. She made rosaries, loved to knit, crochet, quilt, embroider and scrapbook, skills which she enjoyed sharing with and teaching to her daughter and granddaughters. To say Barb was an avid Colorado Rockies fan would be an understatement. She loved the Rockies, never missing a televised game and counting the days till the season opener every year.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Bond and Rose (McGuire) Bond; and her brother, LeRoy Bond. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Carl, of Leadville; her son Carl (Nancy) Lindbloom of Minturn; daughter Vanita (Chuck) Talley of Leadville; and grandchildren Katie and Chris Lindbloom, and Sarah, Luke and Rebekah Talley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 25 at St. Joseph Church in Leadville with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. The Reverend Father Jesse Perez officiated accompanied by musicians Joan Dawson and Jean Elliott. Pallbearers were Keith Moffett, Steve Frye, Luke Talley, Chuck Talley, Chris Lindbloom and Terrence McNicholas. A reception for family and friends was kindly provided by the Catholic Daughters. Arrangements were handled by Bailey Funeral Home.
