Funeral services for Perry Ashley CLARK, a resident of Routt County for over fifty years were held at the Euzoa Bible Church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Arthur Goodrich officiating.

Perry Ashley CLARK, the son of Abraham and Sarah Foster CLARK, was born on March the 4th in the year of Our Lord 1878, at Paxton, Illinois, and passed away at his home near Rifle, Colorado on Friday morning, May the 14th, 1965, at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 10 days.

Mr. CLARK grew to manhood in the Paxton community and attended Paxton High School and graduated from the Rice Collegiate Institute. Mr. CLARK's father came to Colorado just before the turn of the century seeking a better place to live for his health, he returned to Paxton to bring his wife and family to Colorado but before he could make the return trip he passed away. Mr. CLARK's widowed mother then brought the family to Denver in 1897. Mr. CLARK attended and graduated from Barnes Business College at Denver.

For a time he worked with the cotton mills in Denver serving as a bookkeeper and paymaster, and in 1901 he moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he worked on various ranches. He was united in marriage with Vauna HILL on Ocober 19th, 1904 at Paxton, Illinois, and he brought his young bride to Colorado where they spent sixty wonderful years together. They homesteaded a ranch on Elk River in Routt County where they ranched for 46 years, and in later years they were engaged in raising purebred shorthorn cattle. In 1946 they retired from active ranching and later sold their ranch. In 1949 they moved to the Rifle community and have since made this their home. Mr. CLARK was interested in civic and community affairs, he had served Master of the Grange, served on the school board in district nine, and instrumental in bringing electricity to the rural area of Steamboat Springs, serving on the Yampa Valley Electric Association Board and for three years served as its president. He was a member of Euzoa Bible Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stella May CARLSON in 1958, three sisters, Eva COMSTOCK, Sue D. CLARK and Mae GRAHAM, one brother, Windford CLARK.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. CLARK of Rifle, a daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Sarah) CRAIG of Steamboat Springs, and a brother, Harry CLARK of Canon City, Colorado, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Robert NOYCE, John SANDELIN, Tom WILLIAMSON, Joe JANECK, Lind HILL and Alex URKHART.

Honorary pallbearers were Clarence LIGHT, I. G. ARNOLD, Gordon GRAHAM, Leash LOSBLAUGH, Charles LOSBLAUGH, Merle CARVER, Russell OHMAN and William STEES.

Mrs. Muriel Bowen accompanied by Maxine Ohman sang "In the Garden" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul."

Burial was in the Steamboat Springs cemetery with the Root Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
