Marilyn WHITECOTTON, a longtime resident of Routt County, died July 3, 2002, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 77.

She was born Marilyn Joyce CHRITTON December 13, 1924, in Steinauer, Nebraska, to Reno and Luella CHRITTON. She came to Routt County in 1941 and graduated from high school in 1942. She married Wayne WHITECOTTON in 1947, and they made their home in Deer Park. She was an active member in the Christian Science Church here for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Jimmy CHRITTON, and one sister, Edyth SUMMER. Marilyn is survived by two sisters, Norma WEBER and Doris STEVENS, both of Grand Junction; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry of Steamboat, Wes and Brenda of Steamboat, and Ken and Tina of Tucson, Arizona; three grandchildren, Kendra, Shawneen and Gail; and two great-granddaughters.

Memorial services were held July 6, 2002, following a private burial at Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
