Obituaries

It is with the greatest sorrow we announce the passing of Jeff Rush on June 10, 2010. A service was coordinated by Yampa Valley Funeral home and was held June 17, 2010.
Jeff lived in Steamboat Springs for the past 29 years, the last 17 of which he was the system information manager at ACZ Laboratories.
Jeff will forever be remembered for his love of family, vacationing, hosting family get-togethers, telling a good story and celebrating special occasions whenever possible. Jeff lived for our many historic family dinners and breakfasts. He was the hub of the Rush family wheel, the communication system for his family. Jeff deeply cared about the day-to-day activities of each of the people in his life; calling and checking up on everyone was a passion of his and one that everyone loved and came to expect.
Graduating from Bellbrook High School in Dayton, Ohio, Jeff then joined the Navy and served honorably as a submariner. After the Navy, Jeff landed in Colorado. He immediately found the ski areas for work and entertainment. Jeff spent time skiing and working in Keystone, Silver Creek and Steamboat Springs where, during the 1981-82 ski season, he worked with the first snowmaking crew on Mount Werner.
Between 1983 and 1987, Jeff attended Western State College in Gunnison, graduating summa cum laude in political science and history. He continued his education at the University of Oregon graduate school. Shortly after, he made the move back to Steamboat, where he lived, loved, worked and played until his death.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Mrs. Zondra Rush, his aunt and uncle, Judy and John Rogers, and cousin Jason Dyal, of Vero Beach, Fla.; his uncle, Richard Jenkins, of Escanaba, Mich.; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Ann Rush, niece, Kristen, and nephew, Eric, of Meridian, Idaho; brother and sister-in-law Mark Rush and Kelly Purcell, of Steamboat; brother and sister-in-law Brad and Lisa Rush, nephews, Austin and Dakota, of Grand Junction.
Uncle Jeff, The Godfather, The Big Kahuna, Jeffrey Paul Rush, we will forever love and miss you.
