Raymond was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Andrew and Iva Fox.
He joined the Army Air Corps and served as a photographer during the Korean War, after which he worked as a lithographer for Collier's Magazine.
Raymond met his wife, Leona, on the ski slopes and moved to Dunellen, N.J., where he continued his craft as a journeyman photoengraver and raised a family of four. His father also was a photoengraver.
His work took him and his family to Oregon, Illinois and Southlake, Texas. His love of fly fishing and his wife's shared love of the mountains led them to retire in Steamboat Springs in 1995. Raymond worked seasonally for the Steamboat Ski Area.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Leona; son Jeffrey Fox and grandson Jake of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Jacqueline I. Russell and grandson Connor of McKinney, Texas; son Andrew R. A memorial service was held Jan. 7, 2004, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Monsignor Shroeder officiated. Internment took place at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Raymond be remembered with contributions to United Way in care of the Yampa Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 776090, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
