Cecil Michael "Mike" Bettger, 44, of Steamboat Springs, died Feb. 10, 2002, at his home.
#Mike was born June 12, 1957, in Hayden, the son of Cecil and Ortencia "Ortie" (Gonzales) Bettger of Steamboat Springs.
#Mike worked for 17 years at the United States Forest Service in Steamboat Springs and he retired in 1998. He attended Colorado Mountain College, loved music, listening to books on tape and talking on the phone.
#He is survived by his parents; a sister, Veronica Blake of Steamboat Springs; two nephews, Jason and wife Heather and Brian; a niece, Tiffany; two grandnephews, Derek and Devin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
#He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
#Funeral services were held Feb. 15, 2002, at the Peterson Funeral Home of Steamboat Springs. Chuck Girton of Euzoa Bible Church officiated. Burial was held in the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
