Our dear mother, Marlene J. Jacobson
passed away Friday, December
2, 2011 at home surrounded
by loved ones.
Marlene was born in Sibley,
Iowa on January 25, 1922 to Edmund
and Freda Hundley. She
met her husband Edward F. Jacobson
(Jake) in Sioux Falls, S.
D.; they were wed on June 13,
1944. Later they followed the
uranium boom and resided in
Moab, Utah and Grand Junction,
CO. She moved to Salt Lake City
in 2004.
Marlene is preceded in death by
her parents, her husband, a
brother, one granddaughter and
one great granddaughter. She is
survived by daughter, Karen
Miller (Salt Lake); sons, Jeffery
E. Jacobson (Grand Junction), and
Greg F. Jacobson (Las Vegas);
five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great
grandchild.
Marlene loved being around people. Her family and friends meant
everything to her. She was a great entertainer and loved to dance.
She was a member of the Valiant Chapter # 21 Order of Eastern Star
in Moab where she served as Worthy Matron in 1965 - 1966. She
was also a member of W.A.I.M.M.E. in Moab and Grand Junction.
She was an avid reader and bridge player. While in Moab she
worked as a secretary for City Hall, where she was noted for her
outstanding shorthand and typing skills.
The family wishes to thank IHC Hospice for their compassionate

Services will be held in Grand Junction on December 17, 10:30
a.m. at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Ave., Grand Junction, CO.
