Visitation will be from 6 to
8 p.m. Monday at Martin Mortuary.
Services will be at 11
a.m. Tuesday at Orchard Mesa
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pickett was a homemaker.
Survivors include two
daughters, Jane Shephard
and Carolyn Maynes, both of
Grand Junction; fi ve grandchildren;
and six great-grandchildren.

Juanita left our lives to join her
Lord and Savior on January 6,
2012.
She was born in Council Bluffs,
Iowa to Lizzie Luchsinger and
William Gruenau. She graduated
from Thomas Jefferson High
School in Council Bluffs. She
married Sam Pickett in May of
1942. As an army wife she lived
in Fort Riley, Kansas and Japan before finally settling in Denver in
1953, where she and Sam raised their daughters.
Juanita was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother,
and great-grandmother. After her husband's death she moved to
Grand Junction to be near her family where she enjoyed playing
cards and games, going to dinner and movies, baking, going to
church, and visiting with friends. Juanita enjoyed life and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband. She
will be missed dearly by her daughters, Jane Shephard (Mike) and
Carolyn Maynes both of Grand Junction; grandchildren, Allison
Carey (David) of Molina; Aaron Mullins (Mia) of Phoenix; Sandy
Casano of Grand Junction; Beth Mather (Josh) of Fruita; Kimberly
Roberts (Jeff) of Clifton and eight great-grandchildren.
Juanita spent the last five and a half years of her life at Larchwood
Inns of Grand Junction. The family wishes to express gratitude to
the staff and to Hospice for the care she received from them.
Contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western
Colorado
Visitation will be at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Ave., Monday
evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Orchard Mesa
(Trinity) Baptist Church on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
