Harrison Stanley Hopper died
December 25, 2011 at St. Francis
Hospital, Tulsa, OK.
Stan was born November 24,
1941 in Winnemuca, NV to John
(Jack) and Leta Hopper. He
served in the US Navy. He was a
property control manager for
contractors with the Department
of Energy while living in Grand
Junction. He then lived in Paonia, CO and retired as the warehouse
supervisor for (Arch Coal) West Elk Mine in 2007. Retirement took
him to Pendleton, OR where he enjoyed golf at PCC, salmon fishing,
and woodworking.
Stan was a past master of Paonia, CO Masonic Lodge # 121, A.F.
& A.M., a member of OES Bushee Chapter, Pendleton, a life member
of the Elks Cody, WY Lodge #1611 and a member of the First
Christian Church, Grand Junction, CO. In 2011 he relocated to
Grove, OK with his wife, Peggy to enjoy The Grand Lake of the
Cherokees.
In addition to his wife of 25 years, his survivors include two sisters,
Donna Allbriton (Tony) and Beverly Taylor of Grand Junction,
CO; his brother, Richard Hopper (Shirley) Pendleton, OR, and a
blended family of seven children, Bill Hopper, John Hopper, Cher
Roesler, Jim Hopper, Jacki Hopper, Stephen Taylor and Cindy
Taylor; also 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Stan truly touched many people with his love and freely shared
many of his given talents. Stan was a loving husband, dad, papa,
grandpa, brother and friend that will be greatly missed, as he was
one of God's greatest gifts to all who knew him. He enjoyed his
family and many friends.
Cremation has taken place and final interment is to be held at a
later date at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of CO, Grand Junction,
CO.
