Neoma Rose Antisdel died of natural causes early Monday morning,
December 19, 2011, at Sunrise Creek in Montrose Colorado.
She was 74.
Neoma Rose Woolfe was born to George and Isabelle (Cornish)
Woolfe on April 21, 1937 in Augusta, Colorado. She spent her
childhood in Crested Butte, Somerset, and Paonia, Colorado. She
graduated from Paonia High School. She went on to attend Adams
State College in Alamosa, Colorado, on a band scholarship. Neoma
graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
It was in college where she met her husband, Gary Antisdel. They
married June 7, 1958 in Paonia in her parents' orchard. Neoma and
Gary shared 53 years together. Neoma enjoyed teaching and being
around children. She taught for 30 years. Five of those years were in
Alaska and the rest were in the Douglas County School District in
Castle Rock, Colorado. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and sitting in
the stands cheering on her children and their friends in their various
sporting events. After retiring she continued to travel with her husband
and together they decided to build a home in Cedaredge, Colorado.
Here she enjoyed ATVing, camping, dancing, taking walks
and being with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending
time with her grandchildren, Lexi, Aric, Ty and CJ.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Antisdel of Cedaredge; her
two sons, Tim Antisdel and Monte (Ann) Antisdel, both of Denver;
her daughter, Krista (Keith) Brown of Henderson, Nevada; two sisters,
Shirley (Ed) Britton of Grand Junction; Sharlene Woolfe Maddox
of Austin, Texas and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Isabelle
Woolfe and a sister, Georgia Woolfe Dodge.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Valley Lawn
Funeral Home in Montrose. A memorial service for Neoma will be
held in the spring.
