Dennis Todd Shopbell
July 1, 1965 – November 3, 2011
Dennis Todd Shopbell, 46, of
Clifton, CO, passed away unexpectedly
at his home of an aortic
aneurism, and went to be with the
Lord on November 3, 2011.
Dennis was born July 1, 1965 to
Bonnie and Robert “Skip” Shopbell
in Clarkston, WA. He attended
Central High School.
Dennis was a loving father, son,
brother, uncle, and a loyal friend.
Dennis enjoyed fishing, camping, watching football, barbecuing,
and spending time with his children, family and friends. He was especially
known to be a wonderful cook with a specialty of cooking a
mean pan-fried steak, gourmet salads, and the favorite cook at
hunting camp. One could always count on Dennis to be the life of
the party as he had a wonderful sense of humor and his loving spirit
always came through.
Dennis was a very caring person, trusted in, and prayed to the Lord
to get him through anything. He loved his children deeply and they
were everything to shim. He also had a unique bond with animals in
which he had a language with them all his own.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Shopbell;
paternal grandparents, Wava and Charles Shopbell; and maternal
grandparents, Helen and Wayne Bartlett.
Dennis leaves behind two children of Grand Junction, a son, Dillon
Todd Shopbell (21), with mother Teresa DeFries, and daughter,
Emma Sue Shopbell (12), with mother Heather Flaherty; his mother
Bonnie DeVriend (Jack DeVriend) of Washington, UT; step-mother,
Ann J. Sanders Shopbell of Grand Junction; two sisters, Brenda
Brunner (Jason Brunner) of Grand Junction, and Anastasia (Stace)
N. Sanders of Morrison, CO; three brothers, Jeff Shopbell of Clifton,
CO, Richard Shopbell of Sacramento, CA, and Ronald Shopbell
of Logan, UT; two nieces, Jennifer Renteria of Clifton, CO and
Megan Towles of Lewiston, ID; and three nephews, Austin Brunner
of Grand Junction, Christopher and Marcus Shopbell of Logan, UT;
along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, November 8 at 1:00
p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary located at 2515 F. Road.
Memorial contributions can be made to his children at any Wells
Fargo Bank in honor of the Dennis Todd Shopbell Memorial Fund.
