Robert “Bob” George Ingalsbe,
94, of Grand Junction, CO, passed
away May 3, 2012, in Mesa, AZ.
He was born October 10, 1917,
in Beattie, Kansas to Francis
Henry and Rosalie (Thorn) Ingalsbe.
He was married to Kathleen
Graham and was later divorced,
they remained dear friends throughout the years. He later
married his sweetheart, Helen Louise Barney. They were sealed in
the LDS Salt Lake Temple.
Bob worked for the Rio Grande Railroad; he started out as a fireman
and ended his 47 year working career as an engineer. He was
an engineer on the California Zepher and the Am Trak passenger
trains. He also was a proud member of the Board of Directors for the
Locomotive Engineers Union for many years.
He loved his job and loved to work. But, he especially loved his
wife, his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He
was dearly loved by all. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing,
hunting, and golf. He also loved puttering on anything he could
find to do. Bob collected antiques and enjoyed displaying them and
talking about what they were and how he found them.
He was preceded in death his loving wife, Helen; his dear friend,
Kate; his son-in-law, Richard Thatcher; brothers, Glenn, Tad, Elgin,
Bill and Dean Ingalsbe, and sisters, Francis, Darlene and Jean.
He is survived by his beloved children, Roberta (Dan) Williams of
Glendale, AZ; LaVonne Williamson, Grand Junction, CO; Ron Ingalsbe,
Goodyear, AZ; Kathie Thatcher (Harley) Jense, Highland,
UT; Carolyn (Stan) Gilbert, Clifton, CO; Trish Kallas, Fruita, CO;
Colleen (Scott) Vaughn, and Shelee Hayden, Mesa, AZ, and
sisters-in-law, Barbara Ingalsbe, Mesa, AZ, and Lorraine (Mike) of
Jensen, WA. He loved his 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren,
two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dad's
great sense of love and his humor will be missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11th at the LDS Church
on 2235 Kingston Road, Grand Junction. The viewing is 1:00 - 2:00
p.m., funeral services will follow. Interment will be at the Orchard
Mesa Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Robert lost his eye sight due to Macular Degeneration; he wanted a
cure for this awful disease. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to Macular Degeneration Foundation at www.eyesight.
org , under "Robert George Ingalsbe".
Dad will be remembered by the many heart prints he left on all our
souls, his love, hugs, smiles, laughter, kind words or helping hands.
We love and miss you!!

Robert George Ingalsbe, 94, Grand Junction, died May 3,
2012, in Mesa, Ariz.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday with services to follow at
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fourth Ward, 2235
Kingston Road.
Mr. Ingalsbe was a railroad engineer.
Survivors include one son, Ronald of Phoenix; seven daughters,
LaVonne Williamson of Grand Junction, Carolyn Gilbert of Clifton,
Roberta Williams and Colleen Vaughn, both of Phoenix, Kathie
Jense of Highland, Utah, Patricia Kallas of Fruita and Shellee
Hayden of Mesa; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
