Irene was born in Ottumwa, Coffey
County, Kansas, raised in
Burlington, Kansas, in a family of
f i v e g i r l s a n d o n e b o y , K a y ,
Marge, Helen and Wilma, her
brother, Harold Roscoe Gillette
survives.
She led a long and wonderful
life. Her first half with an Oilfield hand named Frank B. Haynes and
the second half with a Mining man named Louis P. Gaggini, out
living both of them.
She lived and followed the Oil Patch in Texas and all the Western
States, Canada, Venezuela and Columbia. The Mining man started
her out in Uranium Country, SE Utah and Western Colorado, Jeffery
City, Wyoming, then to Silverton, and on to the big cities,
Washington, D.C. and New York, returning to Denver until retirement,
finishing off here in Grand Junction.
She raised two sons, Frank Steven (Petrica) Haynes, and Richard
Harold (Karen) Haynes (deceased). She helped out with five
step-children, Susan Diaz, Catherine Gaggini, Elizabeth Gaggini,
Laura Gaggini (deceased), and Paul Gaggini (deceased); grandchildren,
yes seven of them, Irene Manuela Haynes, Jose Francisco
Haynes, Joshua Richard Haynes, Leah Calli (Nelson) Lamprecht, Jo
Marie Peltier, Meredith Weidner, Jessica Weidner, and four
great-grandchildren, Dylan, Hayden, Ella, and Chloe.
Per her request there will be no services. Cremation will take place
and her ashes will be placed with her Big Men in the Orchard Mesa
Cemetery.
