Margaret H. Anderson, Grand
Junction, CO, passed away May
6, 2012, at Eagle Ridge of Grand
Valley. She was 96.
Margaret “Marge” was born in
Burlington, Kansas to Ross Alvin
and Katherine (Kaufman) Gillette.
She was raised in and around the
Burlington area. She met Clinton L. Anderson in Lyndon, KS, and
married him there on June 4, 1934. The early periods of their 64
years of marriage were spent following the oil fields around from
Kansas, to Texas, Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, and Colorado.
Clinton preceded her in death on April 15,1998.
Marge was a member of the Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #68 in
Williston, North Dakota. She was also an impressive homemaker
who enjoyed cooking, playing cards, her friends, and especially her
family.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat (Gene) Turley of Grand Junction,
CO; three grandchildren, Shawnna (Kevin) Holt of Commerce
City, CO; Michael Palaniuk of Hayden, CO, and Michele Schoenberger
of Arvada, CO; seven great-grandchildren, Clint, Derek
(Mallorie), Kaden, Alec,and Amy, all from the Denver area, and
A n g e l a a n d A l e x f r o m S t e a m b o a t S p r i n g s , C O ; t h r e e
great-great-grandchildren, Natasha, Rehanna and Jacob from Thorton,
CO; one brother, Harold (Ann) Gillette of Denver, CO, and
many nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four
sisters, Wilma, Helen, Kay, and most recently, Irene, who also
passed away on May 6th, 2012.
Services are scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at
Martin Mortuary with graveside services to follow at Memorial
Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider
a donation in Marge's name to Hospice and Palliative Care of
Western Colorado at 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO
