Barbara M. Ledbetter, 69, Fruita, died May 9, 2012, at Hospice
Care Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; two sons, Dan Nichol and
Jeff Nicol, both of Rio Rancho, N.M.; three daughters, Kathy Fulton,
Carolyn Helland and Sherrie Miller, all of Los Alamos, N.M.;
and 10 grandchildren.

Barbara Ledbetter passed away
on May 9, 2012 at the Hospice
and Palliative Care of Western
C o l o r a d o i n G r a n d J u n c t i o n ,
Colorado, surrounded by her
many friends, and loving and devoted
family.
She was born in Albuquerque,
New Mexico to parents Albert
and Era Copeland, and spent a
full and accomplished life as loving daughter, sister, wife, and
mother.
In addition to raising a family and caring for those in her life, Barbara
had a successful career leading the protocol office for Los
Alamos National Laboratory and was an accomplished artist. Her
zest for life was contagious and her positive outlook on life, even in
times of difficulty, a model for others.
She is survived by her husband, James Ledbetter; sons, Dan Nicol
and Jeff Nicol (Tiffany) from Rio Rancho, NM; step-daughters
Kathy Fulton (Doug), Carolyn Helland (Greg), and Cheryl Miller
(Mike) from Los Alamos, NM; grandchildren, Chelsey Nicol, Allan
Nicol, and Max Flemming; and step-grandchildren Mike Miller Jr.,
DJ Fulton, Leah Fulton-Eng, Phillip Miller, Jay Miller, Zach Fulton,
Loren Sorenson, and Michael Helland.
Barbara was preceded in death by her two brothers, Howard Copeland
and Dallas Copeland.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary
in Grand Junction, CO, at 1 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the
American Cancer Society or Hospice and Palliative Care of Western
Colorado.
