Vail Daily obituary: Doris K. Andrews, 1923-2012.
Doris K. Andrews, age 89, died after a lengthy illness at her home in Eagle on Sunday.
Born in Rockford, Ill., she graduated from Winnebago High School and the Rockford Business School. She worked at the AFL-CIO Union Hall and General Electric before raising her four sons in Shirland, Ill. Doris moved to Eagle in 1981, where she became an active member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle.
She will be remembered for the thoughtful gifts she shared with the congregation over the years on many holiday occasions, including mailing Christmas cards for the Methodist Church to all church members, even this past year as her health was failing.
Survivors include her four sons, Darryl Lundholm, Roger (Kathy) Lundholm, Joseph (Deb) Andrews, and Thomas Andrews. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hannah Lundholm, Colin Lundholm, Kori Lundholm and Karmela (Tom) Londo, and six great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Silvia Shackleford, her first spouse, Leonard Lundholm, and her second husband, Joseph C. Andrews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church of Eagle Valley at 138 Howard St. in Eagle. Burial will be at a later date in Shirland. Friends of Doris are welcome to join her family at a reception at the Methodist Church immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the children's programs of the United Methodist Church in Eagle, in remembrance of the love Doris had for all the children she met.
