Roxana Rose Blair of Grand Junction, Colorado, peacefully went
to her Lord and Savior, with her family by her side, on November
10, 2011. Roxie, as those who loved her dearly called her, was 66
and was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Ira and June McCasland, on
August 11, 1945. She grew up on a ranch near Ault, Colorado with
her beloved younger sister Cheri, raising Black Angus cattle, riding
horses, and enjoying life on the ranch.
Roxie moved to Saratoga, Wyoming where she met and married
Bruce Averett. They moved to Encampment, Wyoming, and had
two children, Kelly and Patrick. Bruce was tragically killed in a logging
accident and Roxie moved her young family to the Fort Collins/
Loveland, Colorado area to be closer to her family. She was
blessed to meet Bill Blair, a Colorado State Patrolman, and after
years of a wonderful friendship, married him and together they
moved to the Grand Junction area.
Roxie loved to ride horses and work with cattle. She was an avid
horticulturist and supplied plants and flowers for businesses in the
Loveland/Fort Collins area. She loved to knit and make cards, read
and play golf. She worked for Four Corner Drug Company in Grand
Junction and loved to meet people. She also volunteered for Hospice
of Grand Junction and absolutely cherished helping others in
their time of need. Roxie dearly loved her little dogs, Sadie, Lexie,
and Cassie.
Roxie is survived by husband, Bill Blair of Grand Junction;
mother, June McQuaid, and husband, Joe of Tucson, AZ; daughter,
Kelly Averett Jones of Pahrump, NV; son, Patrick Averett and wife,
Jill of Delta, CO; son, David Blair and wife, Jill of Aurora, CO;
daughter, Michelle Blair of Laramie, WY; grandchildren, Zachary
Jones, Tyler Blair, and Taylor Blair; sister, Cheri Clymer and husband,
Dennis of Loveland, CO; sister-in-law, Yvonna Zobel of
Johnstown, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roxie is predeceased by her beloved father, Ira McCasland; husband,
Bruce, and her brother-in-law, Bill Zobel.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 15 from 4 - 6:00
p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction. Services will
be Wednesday, November 16, 11:00 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary,
2515 F Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501. Internment will
