Betty Francis (Keegan) Paxson, 69, of Gypsum, died Monday at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Martin, S.D. She graduated from Bennett County High School and dental technician training in Minneapolis. In June of 1962, Betty married her high school sweetheart, John R. Paxson, and moved to the Denver area. For years, Betty worked as an assistant for an orthodontics office in Littleton. Later, she and John moved to Longmont, where she worked as a nail technician and inventory manager for a day spa in Boulder. Five years ago, the Paxsons relocated to Gypsum, residing in the Cotton Ranch community.
Betty's greatest source of joy was her three children, Scott, Sean and Jennifer. Betty was blessed to have all of her grandchildren close by in Colorado, allowing her to spend quality time with them attending as many of their school functions and sporting events as she could. She was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle.
She was preceded in death by her first born son, Scott, her sister Delores of Highlands Ranch and nephew Craig Urban of Highlands Ranch.
She is survived by her husband John (Jack); son Sean (Katie) Paxson and daughter Jennifer (Jamie) Sanchez, all of Gypsum; a sister Jean (Richard) Reynolds, of Tempe, Ariz., brother Ken (Cindy) of Martin, S.D. and a brother-in-law, Jerry (Vicki) Urban of Highlands Ranch; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Betty will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 215 Capitol St. in Eagle.
