Allen Wesley Hobbs, 85,
Fruita, died Jan. 29, 2012, at
Family Health West.
Services will take place at 11
a.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary, followed by burial
at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Mr. Hobbs was a refinery operator.
Survivors include his wife,
Peggy Joyce; a son, Michael
of Lakewood; a sister, LaRue
Woods of Panama City Beach,
Fla.; four grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.

Allen Wesley Hobbs went to be with his Lord and Savior January
29, 2012. He was 85.
Al was born in Columbus, GA to George and Eva Hobbs on October
21, 1926. He enlisted in the Navy in November 1943. After
WWII, Al reenlisted in the Army Air Force. Following his service,
he was the third person hired at American Gilsonite Co., where he
continued to work for 30 years.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister,
and two daughters. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Michael;
sister, Mrs. LaRue Woods; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 11:00
a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado at 1:00 p.m.
