Warren Floyd Reams quietly
passed away with his family by

Warren was born in Fort Lyon,

Floyd U. and Josephine (Nerger)
R e a m s . H e m a r r i e d h i s w i f e
Leatha Nora Dean of Gunnison
on June 18, 1942, in Leadville,
CO.
He joined and served in the Navy from 1943-1947 as the Chief
Petty Officer and drum major on Catalina Island. He graduated from
Western State of Colorado, 1950 Westminster Law School, (University
of Denver) J.D., 1954.
He was a distinguished and valuable member of the Grand Junction
legal community for 56 years, serving and supporting many organizations
such as St. Joseph's Church, Community Concerts,
Mesa County Bar Association, Member (Formerly President, 1964),
Assistant District Attorney, 7th Judicial District, 1960, Knights of
Columbus, 4th degree (Former Grand Knight), Kiwanis Club of
Grand Junction since 1955 (Former President and Lieutenant Governor).
He is survived by his wife, Leatha of 69 years; brother, Dwight
Reams of Holdenville OK; sisters, Deloras Kirby of Phoenix, AZ,
and Tina Jones of Woodland TX; his four sons, William of Las Vegas
NV; Melvin of Denver, CO; Charles of Grand Junction; Paul of
Las Vegas, as well as seven grandchildren, Guy, Misty, Zackary,
Mallory, Abigail, Rebecca, and Lynn and five great-grandchildren,
Ayden, Jolie, Belle, Sophia, and Ella.
Warren enjoyed many activities with his family and he found his
most solace in fishing and hunting. There is not an inch of Western
Colorado he had not fished or hunted.
From the inception of his legal practice, Warren garnered respect
from his peers for his unerring litigation tactics. His previous life as
a respected farmer, miner, and fly-fisherman allowed him to 'walk
the line' with any jury, and he successfully litigated his client's position
at any level of justice. Honest, unrelenting, and an accomplished
orator his approach was meticulous.
One of his favorite applicable quotes from Edward Fitzgerald:
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
