Bob died at his home in Fruita on February 11, 2012. He was 84
years old. Bob was born on October 21, 1927 in Colorado Springs,
CO to Earl Young and Maude Simmons Young. He joined the U. S.
Coast Guard/Merchant Marines and later the U. S. Navy. Bob
worked as a truck driver for Sinton’s Dairy for forty years. He met
and later married Jeanne Brouse on September 20, 1967. Upon retiring
from the dairy, he and Jeanne relocated to Fruita, CO.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and traveler. When asked about
his various travels, he could recall all the towns and cities he had
visited and the distances between them.
Bob is survived by his wife Jeanne; his son Bob (Evelyn) of Colorado
Springs, CO; his step-son Daryl Brouse (Joan) of Fruita, CO;
his step-daughter Gloria Brouse of Westminster, CO; and his sister
Barbara Adamich of Las Vegas, NV. He is, also, survived by seven
grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was greatly loved
and will be missed by all.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012, at
the Fruita United Methodist Church beginning at 10:00 am, Pastor
Deanne Sharp officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations
to the “Raise Me Up” fund at the Fruita United Methodist
Church, 405 E. Aspen Ave., Fruita, CO 81521.
Arrangements are under the care of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
