Rhonda Jo Parker, a longtime Eagle resident and current resident of Rifle passed away in Grand Junction on Aug. 13 at the age of 59.

She was born on April 5, 1953 to John and Dianne Beasley of Eagle. Along with her two siblings, Danna (Beasley) Gerard and Bill Beasley, she spent her childhood in Eagle and graduated from Eagle Valley High School in 1971. She continued her education at Barnes Business College in Denver, and graduated with an Associate's Degree in 1973.

Rhonda met the love of her life, Richard Parker, after high school graduation. At the time Parker was serving in the military. They wed on Dec. 31, 1972 in Eagle surrounded by their family and friends. On March 9, 1984 they welcomed a baby boy, Jerad, to complete their family.

In 1972, Rhonda started working for Eagle County. During her 35 years with the county, she worked in the social services division, accounting, clerk and recorder's office and road and bridge. In 2007, Rhonda and Rich joined in a partnership with the NAPA store, purchased a 10-acre ranch and moved to Rifle.

Rhonda always enjoyed gardening, playing softball, sewing, bowling, camping and most of all spending time with her family. Rhonda was always the friend you could count on, at any given time she could be relied on for the simplest or complicated task.

Rhonda is survived by her best friend and husband of 40 years, Richard; her son Jerad (Kristi ); her mother Dianne Beasley; her sister Danna (George) Gerard; her brother Bill (Sonja) Beasley; and many nieces and nephews, Chelsey, Lyndsay, Cody (Sam) and Whitney (Rodd); extended family and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her father John.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset View Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. A potluck celebration of her life will be held at the Gerard home, 251 Dagget Lane, Gypsum following the service.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family request that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation and mailed to St. Mary's Cancer Center; Attn: Debra Hesse 750 Wellington Ave; Grand Junction, CO 81501 with a notation in Rhonda Jo Parker's name
