Floripe “Florie” Mary Rodriguez was born on March 8, 1943 in Ojo Sarco, N.M. to Rosinaldo Romero and Mercedes Arellano Romero. She passed away on Aug. 22 at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.

Florie was born into a large family, having six brothers and four sisters. Florie married Joe Rodriguez on Aug. 8, 1965. They had two sons Rich and Mike. She enjoyed raising her boys. She was very proud of their accomplishments in school, athletics and in their personal lives. Florie had a special love for children. Her grandsons were the sun that lit the sky for her. She had a very special and loving relationship with all of her nieces and nephews.

Florie loved to sew and read. She also loved the outdoors. She always loved gathering with her family.

Florie is survived by her husband Joe Rodriguez of Gypsum. She is also survived by her two sons, Richard “Hadj” Rodriguez and his wife Mary Jane Gonzales of Gypsum and Mike “Mokey” Rodriguez and Sara Belden, and their son Joah Rodriguez of Gypsum. Florie is also survived by her step granddaughters, Brandy Gonzales and children, Tegun, Adreyanna, and Avyha of Grand Junction and Jamie Gonzales and children PatreeCia, Jario and Sophia of Montrose. She is also survived by her six brothers and three of her sisters, Laura Rendon and husband Tony of Dixon, N.M.; Jose of Penasco, N.M.; Albert Romero of Fort Collins; Leroy Romero and wife and her mother in law Elsie Rodriguez of Penasco, N.M. Florie was predeceased by her parents Rosinaldo Romero, and Mercedes Arellano Romero, her beloved grandson Milo Michael Rodriguez and her sister Perfie Vigil.

Florie was loved by her family and friends. We shall all miss her.

Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at at Farnum Holt Funeral Home Chapel, 405 W. 7th Street, Glenwood Springs.
