Daryl Dean Ivie passed away
peacefully at the VA Community
Living Center in Grand Junction,
Colorado on February 17, 2012.
Daryl was born in Aurora, Utah
to Ernest and Flora (Mason) Ivie
on May 3, 1930. He joined the
Marines and was on Active Duty
from December 1951 thru December
1954 and served in the
Korean War for 14 months.
He married Alice Brandt in May of 1954. Daryl started ranching at
a young age. He owned his own ranch in Meeker, Colorado from
1955-1974. He loved the outdoors, he could always be found in the
hay fields or working with cattle. He also loved hunting, fishing,
camping, bowling, and the occasional trip to any handy casino. After
retiring from ranching, he and Alice started traveling with their
RV, becoming camp hosts at many campgrounds in Colorado and
Arizona.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Rex and
Lenard Ivie, and grandson, Travis Ivie. He is survived by his wife of
57 years, Alice Ivie, and five children, Gary Ivie (Linda) of Grand
Junction, CO; Terry Ivie (Gala) of Meeker, CO; Don Ivie (Cher) of
Eagle, CO: Cheryl Foster (Steve) of Cedaredge, CO: Holly Ivie of
St. George, UT; ten grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Shelli, Clay,
Nathan, Tyson, Stephanie, Stacey, Shanie, Kaden; 12 great-grandchildren,
Kourtni, Dalton, Sierra, Addison, Parker, Emily, Reagan,
Cali, Cadence, Ethan, Tommy, and Cooper. He is also survived by
his sister, Arloa Young.
Services for Daryl are to be held on March 16th, 1:00 p.m., at the
Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction,
CO.
The family asks that donations can be made to the VA Community
Living Center, 2121 North Ave., Grand Junction, CO. 81501.

Daryl D. Ivie, 81, Grand Junction, died Feb. 17, 2012 at Community
Living Center at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery
of Western Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; three sons, Gary of Grand Junction,
Terry of Meeker, Don of Eagle; two daughters, Cheryl Foster
of Cedaredge and Holly Ivie of St. George, Utah; one sister, Arola
Young of Palisade; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to Community Living Center at Veterans
Affairs Medical Center, 2121 North Ave., Grand Junction 81501.
