Robert M. Wreed, 75,
Grand Junction, died Feb. 27,
2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday
at Monument Presbyterian
Church.
Mr. Wreed was an life insurance
underwriter.
Survivors include his wife,
Shirlee; two sons, Craig Ryan
of Grand Junction and Paul
Ryan of Columbus, Ohio; three
daughters, Kathy Miller of
Houston, Lynette Knox of St.
Augustine, Fla., and Colleen
Wreed Quick of Fort Scott,
Kan.; one brother, Richard of
Lincoln, Neb.; three sisters,
Carol Maston and Eleanor Dellapina,
both of Longmont, and
Janet Honstein of Loveland;
and eight grandchildren.

Robert M. Wreed entered into

Junction, Colorado. He was 75
years of age.
Bob was born in Omaha, NE to
Maurice and Marie (Wilcox)
Wreed. He attended his early
school years there before moving
to Loveland, CO where he graduated
from Campion Academy.
Soon after graduation, Bob joined the U.S. Air Force. Following
basic training he attended and graduated from the Navy Medical
Training School at San Diego, CA. He was then assigned to work in
USAF Hospitals as a medical Service Specialist, and did so for
many years.
He dedicated 40 years to New York Life as an Underwriter and
Agent, during which time he achieved the title of Certified Life Underwriter
and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round
Table.
Mr. Wreed spent much of his life in Colorado. It was in Denver
that he married his wife, Shirlee, in 1965. Combined they had five
children, and spent more than 47 wonderful years together. The last
12 years of their marriage was spent retired here in Grand Junction,
CO. They both enjoyed spending time with their family and traveling.
Bob was also a talented painter, avid golfer, and spent time volunteering
at the Monument Visitor Center.
Robert Wreed is survived by his wife, Shirlee; his sons, Craig
(Sharon) Ryan of Grand Junction, and Paul (Cheryl) Ryan of Columbus,
OH; three daughters, Kathy Miller of Houston, TX; Lynette
(Doug) Knox of St. Augustine, FL, and Colleen (Mitch) Quick of
Fort Scott, KS; three sisters, Janet Honstein of Loveland, CO; Carol
Maston and Eleanor Dellapina both of Longmont, CO, and one
brother, Richard Wreed of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by
eight grandchildren, and his first two great-grandchildren who are
on the way. He is preceded in death by one grandson, Garrett Knox,
and a sister, Linda Wreed.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2012, at
1:00 p.m. at Monument Presbyterian Church. Private Military Honors
will be held with the family prior to the service. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions in Robert's memory can be sent to the
St. Mary's Hospital Foundation at P.O. Box 1628, Grand Junction,
