Ruth M. Caddy passed away Aug. 28 at the Robert E. Russell O.E.S. Home in Denver. She was 89.
Howard Mortuary in Denver was in charge of the services, which were held at the Eagle United Methodist Church Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gene Anderson of Denver officiated and was followed with services by Eagle Chapter No. 86 of the Eastern Star. Interment was in the Eagle Cemetery.
Mrs. Caddy was born to John and Ella Miller Oct. 13, 1990 [sic.1900], in Leadville where she spent her childhood and graduated from Leadville High School. She was a librarian at the Leadville Library until she married John Caddy June 9, 1920, who passed away Oct. 6, 1978.
Mr. and Mrs. Caddy lived in Gilman from 1923 until his retirement in 1968. They then made their home in Eagle. Mrs. Caddy has been a resident of the Robert E. Russell O.E.S. Home for 11 years.
She was a Methodist and a 70-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
Survivors include her sister, Florence Anderson, Denver; daughters, Marjorie Seawalt, Commerce City; Virginia Bowman, Grand Junction; and Juanita Mossman, Moraga, Calif.; two sons-in-law, Willis Bowman and Johnson Mossman; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
