Dave was born April 2, 1935, in
Montrose, Colorado to Clark and
Loretta Gage. He passed away
March 30, 2012, of complications
from Multiple Myeloma. In
the years between he earned the
love and respect of many people.
He is survived by his wife,
Norma; daughters, Connie (Alan)
Miracle, and Debra Gage, and
step-sons, Paul and Brian Jordan. Dave is also survived by his
brother, Granvill (Gloria) Gage, nine grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents,
daughter, Lisa Walker, and granddaughter, Christa Hoover.
Dave was known by so many people in western Colorado for the
kind, loving, and caring person he was. He was generous to a fault
and his friends always knew they could count on him. Dave graduated
from Montrose High School in 1953. He then went on to manage
several Safeway and City Market stores around Colorado and
Utah and was once the owner of the Orchard Mesa AG Market. In
1992, he bought Rem's Tobacco shop which he grew into a successful
business with his grandson.
Dave loved spending time with his family and many friends. He
enjoyed boating, water-skiing, and spending time at Lake Powell.
He spent many happy hours cruising around the Jeep trails in the
mountains above Ouray. He really enjoyed a good cigar and a glass
of scotch. And he was never seen without his pipe full of Nostalgia.
A visitation will be from 5 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012,
and a funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012,
