Otto Sabbath Pagni, Jr. passed away on February 29, 201, at his
home in Silt.
Otto visited the Roaring Fork Valley in the early 1960's. After
seeing the beauty of the valley, coupled with his love for the outdoors,
he moved his family from Chicago to Basalt.
He spent his career as a stone mason with his son Tony Pagni.
Their custom stone art adorns many homes in the Aspen area.
He was an active member of the Basalt Lions Club. He looked
forward to his job of pancake flipper for the club.
His great love of skiing and fly fishing kept him active in his later
years.
In the 1990's Otto moved to Silt to be closer to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Pauline Pagni; two
sons, Mark and Curtis Pagni; his sister, Dolores "Dolly" Hartmann,
and ex-wife, Bernice Pagni.
His is survived by two sons and one daughter, Tony and Sarah
Pagni of New Castle and their children, Gunnar, Luke and Pilar;
James Pagni of Salt Lake City, UT and his children, Mark and
James; Valarie Pagni and Harold Mugford of Silt and their child,
Amber.
He is missed by all.
Per Otto's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers the
family requests donation to the Basalt Lions Club, PO Box 602, Basalt,
CO 81621.
