Glenn Edward “Ed” Ethridge,
66, Grand Junction, died
March 5, 2012, at his residence.
A service is 10 a.m. Saturday
at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Survivors include his wife,
Carolyn; two sons, Jerry of
Littleton and James of Greeley;
one sister, Nancy Gustafson of
Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Glenn Edward Ethridge passed
away at his home in Grand Junction,
CO on Monday, March 5,
2012, at the age of 66 after a long
courageous battle with M.S.
Ed was born July 2, 1945, to
Gerald and Verlene Ethridge in
Wray, CO. He spent his childhood
in Ridgeway, CO until 1956
and moved to Montrose, CO in
1958. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1963.
Ed and Carolyn Jackson were high school sweethearts and were
married in 1964. Ed was a sophomore at Mesa Junior College and
Carolyn was a senior in high school. They moved to Grand Junction,
CO so that Ed could continue his education; he graduated from
Mesa Junior College in 1965. Ed found a job as a door to door
salesman for Watkins Products. He continued working for them as
he got his Bachelor’s Degree from Denver University in 1967. After
he graduated from DU he was transferred to Seattle, WA as a
District Manager for Watkins Products. Shortly after moving, Ed
and Carolyn had their first son, Jerry who was born in 1968. In
1969, Ed and Carolyn moved back to Denver, CO where he acquired
a position with Servomation Corporation. In 1970, their second
son, Jim, was born.
In 1982, Ed was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Because of
Ed’s determination and perseverance he continued to work for two
more years and retired in 1984, at which time they moved to Grand
Junction, CO where they have lived ever since. Ed and Carolyn
raised their children, enjoyed each other and developed lifelong
friends in the last 27 years.
Ed leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Carolyn; two
sons, Jerry of Littleton, CO, and Jim Ethridge of Greeley, CO; their
wives, Christina and Julie; his four grandsons, Austin, Christian, Eli,
Tatum, one granddaughter, Payton. He also leaves behind his sister,
Nancy Gustafson and her husband, Ron of Las Vegas, NV; his father-
in-law, Robert Jackson of Montrose, CO; his sisters-in-law,
Barbara Jackson (Richard Dorn) of Gunnison, CO; Judy Ethridge of
Grand Junction, CO, and Mary Jackson of Arvada, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Verlene
Ethridge, and his older brother, Donald Ethridge.
Ed lived his life with courage, faithfulness and deep love and care
for his wife, his family, and his friends. He lived with the glass is
always half full attitude. He loved talking with people and was well
versed on any subject especially politics, sports and business. He
looked forward to a good game of chess and was willing to go anywhere
and do anything. He was known for his mind and the way he
thought and the fact that he never gave up. We will always miss his
presence, his smile, the sparkle in his deep blue eyes and his contagious
deep felt laughter.
His memorial service will be held at the Callahan-Edfast Chapel on
Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 10:00a.m. A reception will follow the
service.
