Marvin E. McCorkle, Jr.,
58, Fruita, died March 4, 2012, at
home.
A graveside service with military
honors is 1 p.m. Monday at
Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McCorkle, Jr., was a medical
technician.
Survivors include his wife,
Connie Lovelace of Fruita;
mother Beulah McCorkle of
Clifton; three brothers, Tim of
Oxnard, Calif., Dana and one
brother, who declined to be
identified, both of Grand Junction;
and nine grandchildren.

Marvin E. McCorkle, Jr., passed away in his sleep on March 4,
2012 in Fruita, CO..
Marvin was born May 14, 1953, in California to Beulah and Marvin
McCorkle. In his early years, Marvin was always inquizitive and
wanted to know how things worked. In third grade he built a telephone
and called the principal on it. He attended high school in California,
where he excelled in crosscountry and track, went to state finals
a few times, and he was fast. Marvin attended San Jose State
University where he was enrolled in the ROTC program. From there
joined the US Army, where he served as an airborne medic in many
places spanning from Vietnam to rural Georgia. He enjoyed helping
the little guy.
Marvin moved to Grand Junction in the early 1980's, where he
worked many jobs as medical technician, and mechanic He also
owned an auto repair shop. Marvin also served in the Colorado National
Guard until suffering an injury while on duty. He later
worked for att.wireless. In the last few years, as his health declined,
he would spend a lot time on his ham radio with friends from the local
radio club.
He is preceded in death by his son, Marvin III, and his father, Marvin,
Sr. He is survived by the love of his life Connie; his mother,
Beulah; brothers, Dana (Donna) of Grand Junction; Tim (Joann) of
CA; niece, Megan; nephews, Ryan, and Scott of CA, and Jonathan
of Colorado, and his sons, Jason, and Daniel Lyons, and grandchildren,
Heather May; Daniel, Joshua, Alyass, Layla, Elizabeth, Sylas,
Tristan, Nevaeh.
Graveside service will be held Monday, March 12th, 1:00 p.m. at
Grand Junction Memorial Garden, 2970 North Ave., Grand Junction,
CO 81504.
