Catherine Benjamin went to be
with the Lord on Wednesday,
February 29, 2012, at the age of
86.
She was born on March 10,
1925, to Andrew and Margret
Coyle in Lethbridge, Alberta,
Canada. "Kay" grew up and went
to school in Edmonton, Alberta.
She supported the Canadian War
Effort during WWII. She married Raymond Benjamin in May 1949,
in Edmonton, Alberta. They moved to Houston, Texas in March
1967, with their two daughters, Sharon and Kerry. Kay has also
lived in Kerrville, Texas; Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado.
Catherine Benjamin was known for her beauty and talent with crafts,
quilting and sewing. Besides loving her family, she was best friends
with her dogs, Muffin and Kima.
Catherine's spirit will be carried on by her family, which includes
her daughter, Kerry Benjamin and her son-in-law, Lindon Wiebe
and her two granddaughters, Madison and Jia Wiebe, of Littleton,
Colorado; her son-in-law, Robert Cameron of Grand Junction, Colorado;
her brother, Ronald Coyle and his wife, Gay of Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada; brother, Robert Colye and his wife, Helen of Camrose,
Alberta, Canada, and her ex-husband, Ray Benjamin of
Kerrville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her awesome daughter,
Sharon Cameron; her parents; two brothers, and a sister.
Services will be held at the Fellowship Church on Saturday, March
10, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made
to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado or to Breast
Cancer Research. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mesa
Funeral Service.
