Marybelle Bertuzzi, 89,
Grand Junction, died March 10,
2012, at Family Health West.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at First United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include her husband,
Santo; two sons, Joel of
Longmeadow, Mass., and Adrian
of Littleton; one daughter,
Anna L. Bell of Fruita; two sisters,
Joan Jeffers of Salem, Ore.,
and Mildred McClain of Creighton,
Pa.; six grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.

Born in Freeport, PA to Walter
and Helen Stepp, Marybelle was
o n e o f t w e l v e c h i l d r e n . S h e
graduated from Freeport High
School in 1940 after having won
the American Legion League
award in eighth grade. She went
to Robert Morris business school
in Pittsburgh and worked for Alcoa
Aluminum for 11 years following
her graduation.
She married the love of her life on September 18, 1947, Santo B.
Bertuzzi. She dedicated her life to her husband and family. Out of
this union were born four children. Santo was employed by Lockheed
Martin and was transferred many times. Marybelle faithfully
followed taking care of the family. They started in Baltimore, MD,
continued on to Littleton and Castle Rock, CO, Coco Beach, FL,
Santa Maria, CA, back to Littleton, finally arriving in Grand Junction
in 1990 in order to retire.
She was an avid league bowler, gardener, seamstress and cook. Her
cheese cake was a family favorite. She and Santo landscaped extensively
at Anna's farm, planting fruit and ornamental trees along with
flowering beds. They delighted in visiting the farm often to care for
all they had planted.
She loved their cabin on Grand Mesa and spent summers there until
her failing health. She also enjoyed her deep sea fishing trips to
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
While in Littleton she volunteered to serve school lunches for two
years. She and Santo felt they were fortunate and donated generously
to a number of worthy causes and charities.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; daughter, Jennifer;
brothers, Walter, Clyde, Kenneth and Charles, and sisters, Edith
Minnick, Evelyn Lehman, Martha Hill and Edna Fellers. She is survived
by her husband, Santo; sisters, Joan Jeffers and Mildred Mc-
Clain; her children, Anna L. Bell of Fruita, CO; Joel (Betsy) of Massachusetts;
Adrian (Susan) on Littleton, CO; six grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Internment was held at Cedaredge Cemetery in Cedaredge, CO.
