Don Fallis passed away March
26, 2012, at Hospice & Palliative
Care of Western Colorado.
He was born in Denver to Kenneth
and Mary Lee (Barr) Fallis.

growing up in the mountains of
Florissant, CO with his “much”
younger sister, Bette Kay. He attended
a small school with 11
graduating in his senior class. During his youth, Don’s love of western
and contemporary music grew as he performed in a band, The
Three Beats. This love of music continued throughout his lifetime.
Practicing in front of the tv often resulted with his wife having to
turn up the volume to hear a program, especially if he was playing a
banjo. Scouting guitar stores was a lifelong hobby.
Don graduated from Colorado State University, having majored in
Forestry. He worked as a timber savage in the early years and fought
wild fires. In 1959, Uncle Sam drafted him into the Army where he
was stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL. Afterwards, he married and started
a family, and his beloved son, Charles Gregory was born to this
union. During the married years to the “starter” wife, Don worked
for AT & T. His career brought him to Colorado Springs, Trinidad,
and Grand Junction. He was a district manager. His keen wit and a
bad jokes were ever present in his lifetime. When AT & T promised
to send him to New Jersey, Don retired and chose a different path.
Frame Junction, a renown picture framing business was born. Gregory
joined him in this very successful business. Don was the first
Certified Picture Framer in town.
In 1994, Don married the love of his life, Nancy Pavetti. He then
entered the world of being in a huge Italian Pavetti and Petrafeso
family. With shared interests, he and Nancy traveled, loved the
Southwest arts, photography, calligraphy, cowboy poetry, movies,
music, dining out, built a loving home, took care of their aunties and
family, and enjoyed their cats, Jazz Purr and Cinder.
He had been a Rotarian and received the Paul Harris Award. He
was a member of the Bookcliff Knife and Fork Club, and a member
of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pavetti Fallis; son, Charles Gregory
(Kimberly); sister, Bette Kay (Donnie) Dickson; cousin, Christine
Jaksch; nephews, Wayne (Brenda) Dickson, and Russell Dickson,
and other family members. Don was preceded in death by his
parents, Kenneth and Mary Lee; his in-laws, Dr. Louie and Josephine
Pavetti, and other family members.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 30, from 4 - 6:00 p.m. at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Memorial services will be Saturday,
March 31st at 10:00 a.m., also at the mortuary.

Kenneth “Don” Fallis, 75, Grand Junction, died March 26,
2012, at Hospice Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Mr. Fallis was the owner and operator of Frame Junction.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one son, Charles Gregory of
Grand Junction; and one sister, Bette Dickson of Castle Rock.
