Reta Janet (Fuellgraf) Shreves, age 81, died May 6, in Denver after
an extended illness.
Born December 21, 1930, in Industrial City, Missouri to Albert and
Anne Fuellgraf; Janet was the youngest of three children. Her
brother died at a young age and her sister, Elizabeth, died in 2011.
Janet attended Helena High School, graduating in 1948. She attended
college in Arizona and California and married Harold
Shreves on January 27, 1951, in North Hollywood, CA. They had
four children and lived in Independence, Mo until moving to Colorado
in 1966.
She worked as an administrative assistant for various government
agencies while living in Loveland and Grand Junction, Colorado.
She retired in 1990, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She later lived
briefly in Panama City, Florida and Colorado Springs, CO, and had
come to Denver just a few months ago.
She is survived by her children, Alicia Nelson of Centennial, Colorado;
Brad Shreves of Salome, Arizona; Colette Smith of Lynn Haven,
Florida, and Derek Shreves of Sykesville, Maryland. She had
13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service July 3rd in Grand Junction,
Colorado at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are welcome at The Argyle, 4115 W 38th
Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80212, an assisted living facility where
Janet resided for the last months of her life.
