Jacob Thomas Rousse, 21, Fruita, died June 24, 2012, in
Killeen, Texas.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Martin Mortuary. A service is
11 a.m. Tuesday at Martin Mortuary. Burial follows at 1 p.m. at the
Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Mr. Rousse was a U.S. Army soldier.
Survivors include parents, Bob and Connie Rousse of Cleveland,
Tenn., and Hollie and Matt Benson of Fruita; two brothers, Samuel
Rousse and Matthew D. Benson, both of Fruita; one sister, Alyssa
Benson of Grand Junction.

Jacob Rousse passed away in
Killeen, TX, due to a motorcycle
accident. He was 21 years old.
He was born on November 18,
1990, to Bob and Hollie Rousse,
in Augsburg, Germany. Jacob
spent his childhood in Augsburg,
Germany, upstate New York, and
Grand Junction, CO. He graduated
from Fruita Monument High
School in 2009.
Jacob enjoyed numerous activities, including rock climbing,
whitewater rafting, jet skiing, travelling, running, motorcycling,
playing pool, paintball, just about any kind of adventure. He also
enjoyed fine dining and all types of music.
Jacob was an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army since July, 2009;
serving one tour in Iraq from April to November, 2011, most recently
stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. He was known as the "Peaceful
Warrior" who loved life as much as his family and friends loved
him.
He is survived by his parents, Bob (Connie) Rousse of Cleveland,
TN, and Hollie Marie (Matt) Benson of Fruita, CO; his brothers,
Samuel Rousse and Matthew Benson of Fruita, CO, and his sister,
Alyssa Benson of Grand Junction, CO.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012, between 4 and
8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
July 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Mortuary, with full military
honors following at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado at 1:00 p.m.
